Kirtles of different centuries

I've been searching for different ways to make a kirtle and for one that I like. 16th century to 14th century. And there are many dress diaries already on blog spot and other places on how to make kirtle diaries. Which in the end I may end up doing too, when there is time. This month is Retail Crazy Holidays! I'm one that works near the front of the Hurlburt BX inside entrance. Jewelry counter in fact. When those kids come in to see Santa at the front, ya have to invest in earplugs - with the exception when the boss is around.

This is what I would love to make!

This is the very first 2 kirtles made from bedsheets. When I first learned about the SCA, did not know better.

Yet over the last few years:

I've learned to use my own measurements.       And made an Irish dress instead.

So yes, I've made also a red kirtle finally that was a separate bodice from the skirt and wound up giving it away to a good friend  for Christmas this year and she loves it!

But now I needs a new one!
